I heard from the OC Rescue Mission last week that they were in need of Shampoo and Soap. I’m not personally in the position where I can help much through CASH donations, but I can certainly donate ITEMS, thanks to COUPONS. I coupon to save my family money so we can splurge on other items (although infrequent). However, I also coupon to help others, and am happy to do so as much as I can. (You might remember back in October several OC Deal Mama readers came together and donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank – almost 900lbs of food and items!)
Today, the OC Rescue Mission is getting 37 Shampoos, 24 Body Washes, 4 Lotions, 3 Toothpastes and 3 Multipack Bar Soaps from my stockpile. I actually just purchased the 19 TRESemme last week, specifically for them. They were included in the Cash Card Deal at CVS – 3/$10.00 and each bottle had a $1.75/1 peelie coupon on them, making them roughly $0.47 each. I paid with ECBs plus I’m getting Beauty Bucks back on these, so essentially I pretty much got them FREE!
I called the OC Rescue Mission this morning and asked them what other items they need right now. If you are local, and are looking to help, they are seriously in NEED of WARM CLOTHES, coats, jackets, blankets and the like. They also told me that they are always needing diapers and wipes. Apparently they have several children… just heartbreaking.
Donations can be made Monday – Saturday between 8:00am – 5:00pm at their Tustin facility. Tax receipts are available.

All donations are appreciated, regardless of the size! THANK YOU for giving back to the community!

I’ve had several local readers ask me about a Coupon Swap event in Orange County. I would LOVE to meet some of you face to face and also for you to meet each other (and of course, trade coupons).
I’d like to gauge interest before I go to the extent of formally scheduling something. If this is something that you might be interested in, either as a one-time event or a recurring monthly event, please leave me a COMMENT ON THIS POST letting me know the following:
- Interested?
- Weekday or Weekend?
- Daytime or Evening?
- Location Preference (North/South Orange County, where are you coming from)?
- Do you have a location to recommend?
The requests I’ve had to date have wanted a LIVE, in-person event verses a cyber exchange. You can always post what you have to trade or coupons you are looking for on my Facebook wall, if that’s your preference.
I’ll compile the comments and we’ll go from there! Thank you in advance for your input!
