Gevalia Coffee – ONLY $2.50 At Vons Through Tuesday (8/21)!

I made a quick run into Vons this afternoon.  It was actually an un-planned trip, but I was already in the parking lot for the bank.  My boys were whining for Jamba Juice (happens to be inside my Vons/Pavilions store) so I took advantage of it and picked up a few things.  I remembered while I was there that I had planned to test the Gevalia Coffee to see how the registers would treat it.  I didn’t have my BOGO FREE paper coupon with me, but I remembered that I had it loaded as an e-Coupon through my Just For U account.  It actually worked out even BETTER than I had expected!

My BOGO FREE eCoupon deducted the regular price of $8.99 instead of the $7.99 Sale price!  Since this was an eCoupon loaded to my card through Just For U, it happened automatically.   At the time I was pulling together the weekly matchups, I coulnd’t tell if the advertised $2.00 coupon was a STORE coupon or a MFR coupon.  You can see from my receipt though, that it’s a store coupon.  WOOHOO!

My Last Run To Vons & Albertsons – Spent $14.41, Saved $100.99!

So sorry for the blurry picture… my hubby has my nice camera, and the camera on my phone is TERRIBLE!  (I think it has something to do with 3 little people playing with it.)  I decided to hit up Albertsons and Vons one last time before the ad flips in the morning.  Between the 2 stores, I Spent $14.41 and Saved $100.99!

Albertsons – Spent $8.07, Saved $40.50
(6) Farmer John Hot Dogs
(4) Kraft Singles
(2) Eggo Waffles
(1) Smuckers Uncrustables

I did (5) transactions because I had (10) Doublers to use today before they expired.  The Farmer John Hot Dogs are BOGO FREE $4.29, so after (2) $1/1 coupons and (2) Doublers I only paid $0.29 for TWO packages of Hot Dogs.  I also used (2) $1/2 Kraft Cheese coupons, a $1/1 Uncrustables and a $1/2 Eggo.

Vons – Spent $6.34, Saved $60.49
(4) Post Pebbles Cereal
(5) Fiber One Chewy Bars
(1) Sunkist Fruit Snacks
(6) GM Cereal Treat Bars

This was a fun trip.  My boys have been eating the GM Cereal bars at lightning speed, so I thought I had better re-stock today while they were still cheap. The Fiber One Bars, Cereal Bars, and Fruit Snacks were all part of the Buy 4, Save $4 promotion.

I found all (4) boxes of the Pebbles cereal on clearance for 50% OFF.  I remembered there being a Catalina on these, plus I had received a (Catalina) coupon for $2/3 boxes the last time I was in.  These actually ended up being more than I had planned.  The other varieties of Pebbles cereals were priced at $2.99 so I expected these to be $1.50 each.  Instead, they rang in as $3.99 less 50% OFF, so $1.99 per box.  Still a good deal because I used my $2 coupon AND got a $3 Catalina back making them ONLY $0.74 per box.  I think this is like the Reese’s cereal, which my boys really like, so still a win!

All (5) boxes of the Fiber One Chewy bars were on the clearance cart too!    These rang in at $2.99, Less 50% OFF, so net $1.49 Each.  I then had the $1 come off of each box from the promotion, AND I used a $0.50/1 coupon on each box.  ALL 5 BOXES WERE FREE!!!  AND… if that wasn’t good enough… I also got back a $3 Catalina!!!  They PAID ME $3 to steal buy 5 boxes of Fiber One Bars!!!  Apparently in addition to the Nature Valley Catalina, there’s also one for Fiber One.  Thank You General Mills!

The fruit snacks ended up being $0.49 after a $0.50/1 coupon, and each of the Cereal Bars were $0.49 after a $0.50/1 coupon.

Anyone still planning to take advantage of the last minute deals before the ad flips tomorrow?  It was a GREAT WEEK!

Confirmed: Nature Valley Catalina Working On The Protein Bars!

Just a quick update to let you know that I was able to confirm the Nature Valley Catalina IS working on the Protein bars!  I was hoping it would since we have a $0.50/1 coupon!  (If you missed the prior post on the Catalina details, you can find it HERE.)  The Catalina worked just fine, but my in-ad/Just For U coupon did NOT make these $1.79.  That must only be working on the Granola Bars & Thins.  Still a great price for me!

My Vons Trip – Spent $46.05, Saved $150.15!

I was so excited after posting the Vons matchups this morning, I just couldn’t wait to go!  Today I purchased everything you see in the picture for $46.05 and saved $150.15!

Here’s what I bought:

You can find all of the coupon mathups in this week’s Vons Matchups, but here are the highlights:

There’s an AWESOME Buy 4, Save $4 Instantly event going on and it includes the Fruit Snacks ($0.99) and the Treat Bars ($1.49).  The Mott’s, Sunkist & Ocean Spray Fruit Snacks ARE included.  I was hoping they were… I assumed they would be, but you never know.  VERY EXCITED for this because we have a $0.60/1 and a $0.50/1 printable available AND a $0.50/1 coupon from the 7/8/12 Smart Source.

SHOP THE CLEARANCE CART!!!  I picked up ALL 8 BOXES of the Fruit Gushers from the clearance cart.  They were 50% OFF and are also included in the Buy 4, Save $4 event!  These ended up being FREE (actually a money maker) because the 50% OFF stickers deducted $4 instead of $2 (calculated before the Buy 4, Save $4 discount). I could have done even better, but I only had $0.50/2 coupons with me for those (there’s a $0.75/2 coupon that just came this past Sunday). Technically Vons does NOT allow overage, but sometimes you get lucky with those bright orange stickers!  (FYI – my store also had LOADS of Fiber One Bars on the clearance cart, which are also included in the event for $1.99)

My Vons also only allows 3 LIKE coupons in the same transaction, so I had to get a little creative with which coupon denominations I used (mix & match).  I ended up doing a second transaction just to get more fruit snacks & fruit gushers. When I got home and looked at my receipt, I actually got charged for an EXTRA box of Fruit Gushers that I didn’t buy.  Considering I made money on the other boxes I did buy, I’m going to let it go, haha!

There are a couple of NICE CATALINA deals running at Vons on the Reach Toothbrushes and Nature Valley.  I’ll do a separate post with the details!  (FYI – Not on the Reach toothbrushes I bought… I was testing it and its a no-go.)
